Inrush current, input surge current, or switch-on surge is the maximal instantaneous input current drawn by an electrical device when first turned on.

The main cause is the current was used to charge into capacitors.5 N' k1 o U# Y' y+ A
To reduce this problem, I often don't use a TVS. Instead I always use a inrush current limit circuit like this:6 y: v$ z- z3 g+ f& A, G
